The Origin Of Pizza Margherita

In June 1889,to honor the italian Queen Margherita of Savoy,the  chef Raffaele Esposito prepared the "Pizza Margherita", a pizza topped with tomatoes,mozzarella and basil to represant the colors of the italian flag.Recenr studies to philological  the story of Margherita pizza prepared by "Brandi" for the first time would be a "fals history".It appears that the margherita pizza was born in Naples well before 1889 or between 1796 and 1810.Feancesco De bourcard in 1866, speaking of traditions of Naples contains the descrpition of the main types of pizza, that 13 what we now have the name of the pizza marinara,margherita pizzaand calzone. Already in 1830,a contain "Riccio",in the book "Naples,cantours and serroundings",had described a pizza made with tomato,mozzarella and basil.
